Bourke is a small town of fewer than 3,000 people located roughly 900km northwest of Sydney. Bourke has an indigenous population of about 800 and is home to the highest crime statistics in NSW. In many ways, the community is more integrated than other mixed communities throughout Australia, and we see a lot of hope for youth in the town in the future.
In August 2016, we delivered 30 beds to the Nulla Nulla Land Council and a local organization called Youth Off The Streets, to be distributed amongst families in need around the Bourke area.
